Baldwin Telecom Partners with Prime Media

Baldwin Telecom Partners with Prime Media’s Growing Wisconsin Cluster
6/2/09

Baldwin Telecom is added to the Northwest Wisconsin territory of Prime Media’s cable advertising offering, making local and national advertising available for the first time in Baldwin and its surrounding communities.  Local businesses have been anxious to advertise in the Baldwin area and since Prime Media’s “soft” opening, the response has been tremendous.  Local businesses want to take advantage of affordable advertising on major networks such as CNN, ESPN, Lifetime and others, as well as special promotional advertising such as NFL sponsorship of Monday night football.  Advertisers also have a competitive advantage because there are no other cable TV providers that offer advertising within Baldwin’s territory.

About Baldwin Telecom, Inc.:  Baldwin Telecom (BTI), a locally owned and operated company, and has been providing telephone service to the Baldwin and Woodville, Wisconsin communities since 1900. In 2002 Baldwin Telecom was recognized as the first independent telco in the state to deploy Fiber-To-The-Home technology. BTI is more than a telephone company. A rural independent cable operator has partnered with Prime Media Productions to provide cable advertising.  Giant Communications of Holton, KS is now a part of an advertising territory comprised of nearly 50,000 subscribers that allows small businesses to affordably advertise on major cable network channels, such as ESPN, CNN, Lifetime and Fox Sports.
Although some small cable providers might struggle to make advertising a profitable venture, Prime Media’s strategic “clustering” has made it viable for local advertisers as well as regional and national advertisers.
Local cable advertising not only generates revenue for the operator, it’s an untapped marketing tool for the cable system’s in-house promotions to its existing customers.  Local sales are generated by Prime Media’s field sales force that live and work in the local Kansas communities, while the national sales are managed by Prime Media’s corporate sales force in Smithfield, Virginia.
It’s not only an affordable and effective way for local advertisers to reach their audience locally, it’s also an opportunity for advertisers in neighboring systems to extend their coverage and draw customers from other communities.
